Just few weeks before the end of 2015, YouTube, one of the largest video platform announced the latest ad format, sponsored cards for creator to run their marketing. There are various card sizes. Ads can be displayed on desktops and mobile devices. The content of sponsored cards may be relevant to what videos play, for example, the products feature in the videos. Viewers will see a teaser for the card for a few seconds. They can also click the icon in the top right corner of the video to browse the cards.
Features of sponsored cards:
- Brings creators new income: Displaying new kind of ad format might bring you more profits.
- Relevant: YouTube indicated that the sponsored card shows on the video will be related to the content, such as the products that mention in the video. If videos and ads are more relevant, there are higher chance that audience click on them.
- Applying on mobiles: Sponsored cards can display on any mobile device, therefore ads can reach wilder range of viewers.
